President Lesley Kennedy welcomed 14 other members. Foundation convener Alastair Wilson gave details of this year's Rotary Club of Mid-Argyll smoked salmon and kippers project, and asked for orders in the next two weeks.

Youth Service convener Adam Muggoch reported on last Tuesday's successful local round of the Rotary Young Chef of the Year competition, held at Hermitage Academy. The cooking was of a very high standard, and the winner, Lois Fish, now goes forward to the District 1230 final at East Kilbride on January 27.

The local round of the Young Musician competition will be held at Lomond School on December 3 at 7pm, and, as space is limited, anyone wishing to attend is asked to contact him in advance. This year pupils from Lomond and Hermitage Academy are taking part in vocal and instrumental sections.

President Lesley presented a quaich to immediate past president Bill Deans to mark his presidential year of service, and the weekly raffle for a whisky miniature was both drawn and won by Ian Mowat.
