Peter and Paddy Holmes attended the Wallace High School Awards Ceremony.
The Rotary Community Prize was awarded to Caitlin Smith in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the community. In the past year, Caitlin helped to run Throsk Juniors, a youth club based in her local community. The Club was formed to help meet the needs of young children in the village aged four to twelve. In recognition of its achievements, the Club was successful in winning the Young Volunteers Award. Caitlin’s special contribution was to run the snack bar for which she gained funding to promote healthy eating. She was also part of the bidding group that was successful in gaining a grant from the Council. This will be used to introduce new activities to support families in the local area and build on the positive community spirit.
