'Be a Gift to the World' was the message from Rotary International President K.R. Ravindran brought to the Rotary Club of South Queensferry when District Governor Andy Ireland visited with his wife Jackie on Thursday 10th September.

Having just returned from the Rotary International Assembly in San Diego, Andy expressed the inspiration he felt at being at the heart of an organisation which has done immeasurable good. He quoted President Ravi's call for Rotarians to aspire to great deeds and to use the Rotary values of integrity, trust, reliability and compassion to bring out the best in people. Rotarians help people in all circumstances, ranging from playing a major part in the campaign to eradicate Polio worldwide to helping with food banks at home through collaboration with the Trussel Trust.

Touching on his hopes for District 1020, Andy was keen to develop Rotakids and Interact through which school pupils can become involved in service projects. He also hopes to encourage the upward trend in membership. He hoped to see many members at the District Conference in Dundee. the meeting was chaired by President Kate Gibb. Neil McKinlay introduced Andy Ireland and Drew Graham proposed the vote of thanks.
