On Thursday 23rd July, President Kate Gibb welcomed a group representing the charities who have benefited from the recent Rotary Forth Bridge Abseil to the Rotary Club of South Queensferry. Visitors included Jayne Forbes of Macmillan Cancer Support, Laura Campbell of CHAS (Children's Hospice Association Scotland) and officials and volunteers from eleven other charities. The evening, in the Hawes Inn, was an opportunity for the charities and club members to share the experience of the abseil and to thank those in all organisations whose hard work and dedication made the event such a resounding success. Congratulating all the charities who too part this year, event organiser Graham Clarkson said: 'In the Rotary Forth Bridge Abseil we have found the perfect formula to raise record amounts for good causes and at the same time provide a really memorable experience for the participants. We are looking forward to next year's event which is planned for Sunday 26th June.'
Rotarian Gerald Smith made the introductions and Richard Brown proposed the vote of thanks.
