Alastair Wilson drew attention to the delights of the Prestwick Air Show on Saturday and Sunday, particularly the flying display on Saturday afternoon which includes the Battle of Britain Flight, and also Glasgow's Doors Open Week from September 14-20 — more details can found online.
Derek Hall said that the European Break next April now seemed likely to be from Wednesday to Saturday to Alicante in Spain or Palma in Majorca. This is a much cheaper option than Thursday to Sunday. More details will be circulated in the next few days.
The weekly raffle for a whisky miniature was won by Douglas Dow, while the monthly raffle — this time for a bottle of 18 year-old Glenfiddich Single Malt Scotch Whisky — was won by Bill Jones, who was not at the meeting but bought his ticket last week. That is the first time this has happened!
