The 'Your Green Future' meeting on 25th and 26th of June in the Park Campus of the University of Gloucetershire

Over 350 schoolchildren from 20 secondary schools attended a conference and workshops at the University of Gloucester Park Campus over the two days 25th-26th June. They were looking at global warming issues and the way businesses and politicians will need to change to reach much lower emissions of greenhouse gases by 2050. The idea behind the event is to make young people aware of issues that are threatening our environment and to suggest how they might consider a career in green technology.

Members of all four Cheltenham Rotary Clubs helped run the meeting led by our colleagues Richard Purdon and Bob Gower. The numbers and success of these conferences, in different areas, have been increasing since John Davidson, a former member of our Club, organised the first one in Cheltenham in 2010.
