Kirkham Rotary Walk

Distance 4.6 miles. Time to complete 2 hours 4 mins. Accent 86 feet.

The walk starts and end at The Continental Pub, South Meadow Lane, Preston, PR1 8JP. The distance is 4.5 miles and takes about two hours, some of the route taking us through Avenham Park.  However, as it is a circular route, there are plenty of short cuts back to the start which will quicken the walk for those with shorter legs!  We start and finish at The Continental pub which has excellent food and an vast array of ales to quash the thirst and sooth those aching legs.  There is a municipal car park opposite and to the side of the pub which is free to those using the park with no time limit.  There is only one approach to the start point being Broadgate which is a cul de sac. Prior to the end is a brown information street sign showing BAC cricket club/ The Continental. Turn left at the sign onto Connaught Road and follow it round to the junction with `South meadow Lane and turn right.  The car park is on the left close to the western main line viaduct. The going is good to firm but would recommend walking boots as the ground can be rather muddy.
