This is Natercia's report received on 9th June 2015.
"I
am currently sitting in here in the guesthouse opposite the "Casa
Grande Association" and thought I would give the members of The Rotary
Club of Hexham an update. I only have three weeks left in this beautiful
country and have loved every second of it. As for your donation, it has
gone very far in developing Casa Grande. The school coordinator of
which I would not be able to survive without, has finally been paid! She
went months living under minimum wage and not even getting paid most
months. Resources such as paint, paper, and other stationary equipment
have been stocked up and the children are loving coming to the house to
learn. A plot of land was also donated to Casa Grande two years ago.
Sadly without any funds to develop it, it has sat there and is very
over grown and littered. Thankfully, with your donation, we have managed
to start and turn it into a playground!! I would love to meet with the
members of the Club once I am back and to show you pictures of the
change your donation has helped effect. I also have a written thank you
letter from the children."
more Natercia travelled to South America in January 2015 and spent three months visiting various countries, studying at a language school in Peru and finally, in April 2015, arriving at the Casa Grande Association for a three month voluntary stay.
more Hebe has been selected by the Project Trust to spend a full year volunteering in rural Honduras, starting in August 2015. The Project Trust is one of oldest educational charities specialising in overseas volunteering placements for 17-19 year olds.
