Not so recent news!
On 4th of June 2015, Esk Valley president Geoff presented the Esk Valley sponsored award at the Midlothian Volunteers Awards at Newbattle Abbey. It went to three ladies from the Penicuik cancer research shop to celebrate their long service, each having volunteered for over 25 years. Well done to Mollie Whiteoak, Shirley Dolan and Lorna Dingwall, pictured above with their award.
A couple of weeks earlier, in May, the Club decided to mark the 94th birthday of our own Anna Pope by awarding her the honour of becoming a Paul Harris Fellow. Assistant DG Lindsay Craig was on hand to present the certificate and medal. Anna has worked tirelessly for charity and is in great demand as a raconteur. She recently hosted a fundraiser with the club for the charities Headway and Literacy in a Box. Congratulations Anna Pope PHF!
