Wednesday Speaker Meeting: 6th May 2015 : 19.30 BST

President's Prattle...

This is our first "asynchronous" weekly meeting. The idea is that all members can visit this page and catch up with what is going on in our Club, District and Global Rotary matters.
We will use this to enable members and guests/visitors who cannot [or do not wish to] attend the online meeting on a Wednesday - whether that is because of time zones, challenges preventing attendance or simply because you might have something else to do at that time - all you need to do is

  • Visit the weekly meeting for that week and spend time catching up.
  • When you have done register your "attendance" by completing the "Count Me In" form
  • You are also encouraged to share comments, ideas and things you have done for Rotary in the reply section
  • That's it folks ... your involvement is as simple as that!

You can of course do more the help develop your club and to enrich your Rotary experience by carrying out a project, fundraiser or visit another club - share this with the members so we all know.

As we are an eClub we rely upon doing things as individuals ... together. This means that you can "do Rotary" in your own time and in your own way. You can also hook up with others nearby either from your own club or a nearby land based club - your choice.

Each week I will share my thoughts and ideas for us to get to know each other along with your ideas too. Just let us know what they are.

The format will be broadly the same each week so you can get used to engaging with the bits you like. Let me kow if you do not like something by filling inthe comments at the bottom of the page.

Food for Thought ...

This week's Ted talk is Derek Sivers: Weird, or just different? ... in under 3 minutes!

Club Happenings ...

May is Membership Month which is likely to have a new member with Paul Nicholls.

It is a memorable month for us as we Chartered almost a year ago on 19th May 2014 - phew doesn't time fly!

The team is working on a prgressive speaker programme for the coming months - each week you will be notified of the speaker for the following Wednesday and there will be a rolling list on the front page of our website for the next 30 days with a link to more detail.

We are aware that our communication has not been so good and we want to rectify that ... this weekly meeting will go some way towards it I hope.
