Fellowship

One of the founding principles of Rotary was Fellowship and these pictures show some of the typical activities we get up to in Rotary over the year

Fellowship - The snowdrops are out at Painswick Rococco Gardens, and members of your Rotary Club, family and friends, paid a visit, followed by lunch at the Falcon Inn.

Fellowship - Over 100 of us join together at Somerset Hall to dance away the winter blues and share a ploughman's to the music of a live band, raising money for charity

Fellowship - We regulary organise social lunches with partners in addition to our normal meetings. This one shows our visit in 2014 to Thornbury Castle

Fellowship - Our charity swimming marathon involving around 500 swimmers keeps us busy. Now raising over �10,000 yearly, since inception we have raised over �150,000 for charity

Fellowship - We organise concerts during the year, to raise funds for charity and to entertain. April 2014 brought the Ukelele Funhouse Orchestra: 16 ukuleles, bass guitar & drums

Fellowship - We organise vocational visits to a number of local businesses: Morgan Cars, Didcot Railway Museum, Renishaw Engineering & Butcombe Brewery are recent visits we have made

Fellowship - The BBQ has become a long standing tradition of the Club. The first BBQ was held way back in 1984. Since 1988 we have held it in the Oxley's garden on Portishead West Hill

Fellowship - We have a stand at the annual Portishead Flower show promoting Stroke Awareness, and taking hundreds of blood pressure readings. We even managed to win a prize in 2014!

Fellowship - We have made a number of visits to view local gardens. In 2014 we went to look at the Bristol University Botanic garden, but we have also visited Avebury and Westonbirt among others

Fellowship - In September 2012, some of us braved the weather and left Clevedon pier aboard the Waverly to see the beauty of Lundy. Unfortunately we saw mostly fog and the inside of the Marisco pub!

Fellowship - We help with marshalling, and organise a stall selling coffee, teas and biscuits

Fellowship - In November as winter approaches we regularly organise a trip to Westonbirt Arboretum to see the light show among the trees

Fellowship - We help make the Portishead Victorian Evening a great festive occasion once again with punch, mince pies and Santas Lucky Dip on offer
