Follow Stewart's progress around the North Island of New Zealand in aid of Motor Neurone Disease as he attempts to cover 2000 miles

As most of you know, Stewart Wilson will shortly be embarking on another epic bike ride round New Zealand, and this time has decided to raise money for Motor Neurone Disease at the same time.
At the suggestion of Alan Bradshaw, we(or rather Alan!) have set up a 'Just Giving' website to make it easy to donate. The link is
https://www.justgiving.com/NZ-North-Island-Challenge/
Could everyone have a look at this, 'like it' on your Facebook page if you have one, and promote it to friends and family?
This is a new way of fundraising for us, and I'm hopeful that it will develop into a standard additional method to whatever project we are involved in.
If anybody needs more info, Alan Bradshaw is the man-well done!
And of course good luck to Stewart!

Tuesday 3rd Feb.

Bags and bike are packed and all set to go. Hard to believe that included in the bags is my accommodation, bedding and cooking gear for the next 6 weeks! That is tent, sleeping bag, stove and pot.  Just able to squeeze in the cycling gear and a pair of shorts in.

Arriving Wednesday and hope to setting off on Thursday all being well.

Many thanks to all those who have donated so far. Stewart.

Wednesday 11th Feb

Hi All.

Just left smelly Rotarua and heading over to the East Cape. I seem to be constantly heading up hill into a headwind or either I'm getting to old for this. A bit cloudy today which makes a change. Over 400miles covered, legs broken in now. Stewart.

Monday 16th Feb.

That's me cycled round the East Cape and now 60 miles North of Napier. The last 4 days have been hard, consistent strong headwinds.

Total distance covered so far 700 miles. Chased today by a three legged dog, just about had the energy to outride it. The volcanic  Island in the background is White Island. All the best. Stewart
