Our club AGM

This week’s meeting was opened by President Brian Munro with 22 attendees 21 of our own members plus 1 guest, Margaret Dumbreck.

This week’s meeting was our Annual General Meeting and after the normal lunchtime business, President Brian opened it asking each Chair to report on their various project areas.  PP Iain Gow reported that membership was good and with a few new members joining over the past nine months and a couple of others ready to join he was very happy how things had went, he is stepping down as chair this coming year although staying on the committee handing over the reins to Mark Rossister.

Senior Vice President John Kilgour reported on Service Projects which encompasses various other committees, he reported on how well the club had done this year with fundraising and by the end of President Brian’s year we expect to have raised in the region of £25K most of which will be used in the local community in Youth and Elderly projects.  He also complimented the committee on the fellowship and events that had been held and we look forward to another evening on the 22nd at Adam Smith’s Restaurant after the huge success of the last one.  SVP John also commented on the 200 Club which we now have all the numbers taken up.  Secretary Rod Scott gave us a report on attendance and membership, and thanked SVP John for his contribution to the membership book and keeping all this information up to date.

PP Bill Stewart our Treasurer commented on the next year’s budget and was complimented on a healthy balance sheet and good work for the past year.

President Brian thanked all the members for their support and help.  We then voted on new honorary members and Rector of St Andrews high School Pat Callaghan was nominated as well as Mrs Margaret Dumbreck a regular attendant in support of her husband and Roatarion Jim Dumbreck, she was very surprised.  Also this year’s club council was also nominated and will be announced next week as a ballot was required for the first time in years this has been required.

Finally SVP John announced his Chairs for the coming year and these were accepted by the club.  President Brian closed the meeting by thanking everyone again for all the hard work and reminded us of the Big Event on 31st May at Cluny Clays where we are having a family day in conjunction with 7 other local rotary clubs.
