In the financial year 2013/1014 the Rotary Club of Stourbridge donated over £20,000 to charity much of this to local organisations. The major beneficiaries were the Mary Stevens Hospice and The Glasshouse College, part of the Ruskin Mill Trust, each receiving several thousand pounds.
Many other local organisations received donations including Dudley Young Carers, Stourbridge in Bloom, LIving Springs, several local schools and Scouts and Guides.
The Club raises funds through a variety of events and activities in the Borough and is very grateful to the support received from the local community in raising these substantial sums of money. Members will be collecting outside Morrisons store at KIngswinford in early December and on Saturday 20th December outside Tesco in Stourbridge.
As well as contributing much needed funding to local worthwhile causes, Rotarians are also involved in providing practical support, for example maintaining the planters in the Ryemarket precinct.
