Amplifon and the hard of hearing - Nick Gray

Thu, Feb 19th 2015 at 12:00 am - 2:00 am

Could have been something of a commercial break ...

Nick Gray, an Audiologist from the company Amplifon gave an interesting insight into deafness and hearing aids - he talked at length about the causes of hearing loss, ranging from age to genetic disposition. One interesting point he made was that of 10 million people in the UK who suffer from hearing loss only 2.2 million have hearing aids and of that number only 1.4 actually use them! Nick went on to talk about modern developments in hearing technology and finished with an exhortation to all over 50s to get a [free] hearing test -  good advice for everyone.
