Our Euroscola student, Daniel Johnston, who is also Head Boy of St. Joseph's Academy, Kilmarnock gave us an excellent and impashioned talk on his experiences at the European Parliament earlier this year. He spoke at lenght about his trip to Strasbourg which he described as life-changing. He had piped in the Scottish delegates to the Parliament and had thoroughly enjoyed his time there making many new friends and becoming so much more confident in his own abilities.
Daniel is also Piper to Kilmarnock's Provost Jim Todd who was attending the meeting and the Provost was pleasantly surprised to find himself being given Rotary's highest award - a Paul Harris Fellowship, named after Rotary's founder - for the great work he had done to raise awareness and funding for Prostate Cancer charities and the Samaritans.
