Youth

The Youth Committee arranges the Young Musician, Youth Public Speaking and the Young Chef competitions. It also organises a Kids Out event for disabled youngsters (this year we took children from Paternoster School to Westonbirt Arboretum for the day) and sponsors young people to take part in the Rotary Youth Leadership Award scheme.

Young Chef is a competition for aspiring or enthusiastic Chefs aged 11 to 17; Rotary believes it is highly important to encourage and develop food creativity in young people and it is a growing interest for this age group.

This is an annual competition usually held in November with entries open to young people, this is particularly supported by Kingshill, Deer Park and Farmors schools and the Competition is held at Kingshill School with two local judges. We were delighted as our sponsored Young Chef has recently won the District and Regional heats and took part in the National Final in London.

Young Musician was started by the South Cotswold Rotary Clubs to celebrate musical talent from instrumentalists or vocalists in the Cotswold area, giving them a chance to demonstrate their musical skills
