The Club often engages in fund raising for the North Devon Hospice and on this occasion we were invited to visit and present our cheque.

The Clubs Memory Cafe (Memories Are Made Of This) provided for people living with dementia and their carers meets every third Thursday of the month.

Led by Rotarian Peter the Club supports a number of youth projects. Listening to pupils reading, facilitating a chess Club at Shirwell and a young photographer competition at Pilton are among the projects provided.

The Club supports a number of international initiatives including working with the Rotary Club of Punta Gorda in Belize to provide school hygiene initiatives and first aid courses for emergency personnel.

Providing service to the community is a primary goal of our members. We can be found providing service at the vaccination centre, at local events like the Green Man for example or as Marshall’s at various races and the North Devon Show.

Our garden

A hard days work for our green fingered members! As part of its environmental contribution to the community the Club tends and maintains a small Rotary garden on the edge of the town.

In for many years we have hosted a senior citizens Christmas Party to relieve social isolation and provide opportunities for interaction. Fun, music, choirs, carols, games and good food!

Punta Gorda Methodist Church

Photographs of the project in Punta Gorda. With the assistance of a District Grant the Club has provided funds for the improvement of washroom facilities at Punta Gorda Methodist School in Belize

It’s now become and annual event for the Club to raise awareness of the Rotary International Polio Campaign by illuminating the Barnstaple's Albert Clock in Purple on World Polio Day.

Members of the club visited the Head Quarters of North Devon Homes and were very fortunate to be given a guided tour and organisational update by CEO Martyn Gimber and his team.

The Club facilitates and annual lunch for disadvantaged children following their trip to Barnstaple fair. The event has evolved to provide lunch for the children at the fair over recent years.

Another of our Club litter cleaning events helping to improve the local environment. On this occasion we cleaned the beach near Crow Point.
