Paul Harris Awards to Chestfield Club Members

Thu, Jun 26th 2014 at 12:00 am - 12:00 am

Paul Harris Awards were presented to Jean & Andrew Martin for their outstanding contributions to Rotary and Community Projects

Jean has been a member of our Club for many years now and her Husband Andrew joined us recently from another local Rotary Club.

Both work tirelessly to support Rotary in its activities in the local community and overseas projects and are always first with their names on the "help" list!

Andrew has been in Rotary for many years and has been as active as they are now with Jean getting fully behind him at every opportunity, even when she was not a Rotarian herself.

They epitomise what Rotary is all about - Fellowship and using your time and experience to help those less fortunate than ourselves make the best of their lives.

They are both avid supporters of Shelter Box and are already planning a display of these fantastic life saving tents and equipment at our Whitstable Regatta Stand on Tankerton Slopes on 12th / 13th July to raise awareness, and funds.

As with all such awards it was totally unexpected and once they had got over the shock the smiles showed their joy that their friends and fellow Club members wanted to honour them both in this way.

We believe it is the first "Joint" award given by Rotary - another first for Rotary Club of Chestfield!
