Ewan Archibald has been installed as President of the Rotary Club of West Fife. The clubs new leader for the Rotary Year 2014/2015 was presented with the chain of office at the clubs weekly meeting on Tuesday 24th June at the Keavil House Hotel, Crossford.
Most of his working career Ewan was in the stationery industry working with local, and national companies dealing with clients in the private and public sectors, covering commercial, educational, and local government.
Now retired, Ewan enjoys numerous interests and hobbies, including music - noteably a piano accordionist - as well as photography and model railways. Ewan plays with the Dunfermline Strathspey and Reel Society, and is the founding member of Crossford Scottish Music Group.
He lives in the with wife Gladys. They have two daughters and two granddaughters.
Ewan joined Rotary in 2010, and has been junior vice president, senior vice president and active on various committees within the club.
During Ewans year as president he hopes to continue the good work of his predecessors, leading the club in community projects, supporting good causes, and hopes the club will increase its membership.
Ewan believes good teamwork will make for a successful year, and with teams and plans already established, the ideals of Rotary will continue to be encouraged and developed.
Ewan looks forward to his presidency, with commitment, enthusiasm, and to continued fellowship with his fellow Rotarians.
The theme for the new Rotary year is Light up Rotary and Ewan hopes that the Rotary Club of West Fife will do their part to do just that, to promote Rotary and encourage new members.
