Didn't that used to be called The Blind Shop?
Yes - but they changed the name to The Vision Support Centre as they don't sell blinds!
Maggie gave a very interesting talk about the Centre & the support available to the visually imapaired.
She brought along several pairs of "spectacles" which demonstrated the various types of sight loss & we all tried them out.
We were asked to pass on the fact that anyone who had served in the Armed Forces could join Blind Veterans UK & receive not only support but any aids for free!
Please spread the word.
Mention was also made of a service to offer visits to people with sight problems in their own home and offer help and advice in the area between Millom and Grange-over-Sands.
