RC Prestatyn raise over £5000

Money to go to a variety of local projects

The Prestatyn Rotary Christmas Float raised a record sum of £4,800 in December, and adding the proceeds of a charity raffle and auction, the total amount raised was £5,300. This money will be used to support various local projects including the British Heart Foundation, a HD camera for RNLI Rhyl, a Heart Debrillator at St Melyd Golf Course, Ysgol Clawdd Offa's Eco Garden, Literacy Project at Ysgol Bodnant, The GEM Appeal, Flower Planters for Friends of Prestatyn Railway, Blood Bikes Wales (North), and a flight simulator for Prestatyn Air Training Corp.

President Colin Hall commented "We owe a big 'thank you' to everyone in Prestatyn, Meliden, Dyserth, Trelawnyd and Rhuddlan who came out and supported us in all weathers, to Marks and Spencer who gave Father Christmas somewhere warm to sit on the 23rd and 24th December, to Aldi Prestatyn, Guy Bancroft and Anwyl Contruction for their continued support and to the Rhyl Journal for publishing our routes. Also this was the first time we used Twitter and Facebook for live updates en-route and this received lots of positive comments".
