3 July 2014 Club Handover

Thu, Jul 3rd 2014 at 12:00 am - 12:00 am

The new Rotary year started at last Thursday's meeting of the Rotary Club of Bridge of Allan and Dunblane when Colin Strachan passed the chain of office to incoming president Peter Farr.

During his handover talk, Colin showed photos of the many and varied activities the club had undertaken during the year and thanked all members for their support and commitment.

Past president Iain Smith was awarded a Paul Harris Fellow in recognition of his many years of service and in particular for his work with the local schools in developing the Citizenship Awards programme and also for being instrumental in the establishment of the Interact and Rotakids Clubs at Queen Victoria School.

Jim Gardner reported that the Am-Am Golf tournament held the previous week had been very successful and had raised around £12,500 for Strathcarron Hospice. Jim was extremely grateful to main sponsor, farmfoods, Dunblane New Golf Club and staff, the competitors and all helpers during the event.

Jim presented member Russell Clarke with the Overall Winners Trophy.
