Stirling Rotary meeting Friday 20th. June 2014

President Martin Ross welcomed an excellent turnout of members, together with several visitors.  These were Jackie Cave from Gargunnock, Lucy and Robina, pupils at the Queen Victoria School, and Rotarian Bob King from Saskatchewan, Canada.
The speaker was our own Past President Philip Allison, who described a recent family trip to New Zealand.  Leaving a snowy Glasgow Airport, the Allisons travelled by Emirates to the desert heat of Dubai and then on to Sydney, Australia.  After a 4 hour turnaround, they then headed for Christchurch, New Zealand, arriving at 16.30 local, although it took an additional 1.3/4 hours to negotiate security and immigration.  Destination for the night was Ashburton, an hour
