Late Night Shopping 2013

Wed, Nov 27th 2013 at 12:00 am - 2:00 am

Once again the Club took part in the city's Late Night Shopping evenings. This year's bacon and burger stall was a new venture - a hired unit. Despite three good evenings, the last night on 18 December was washed away and the city was all but deserted.

The Club's first LNS night this year was 27 November, when we ventured out with our experimental use of a hired commercial catering unit. This was repeated on the two following Wednesdays. Takings on these evenings were very promising, and members were agreed that the stall was much easier and more pleasant to operate than our historic tented camp.

Sadly, despite making the effort to set up, the last evening on 18 December was washed out - the rain and wind keeping the city empty of shoppers, as well as making operation of the stall an undue challenge.

We shall need to find a way to replace the lost income to fund next year's local grants.
