Georgia Rotary Students 2008

For nearly 10 years the Rotary Club of Wrexham Erddig has been sponsoring students to participate in the Georgia Rotary Student Programme.

Every year up to 80 students from all over the world are accepted into the scheme and thanks to the generosity of Rotarians in the USA, food, accommodation and college fees are fully paid.  The students just have to meet the cost of their flights, insurance and spending money.

During their stay Vicky and Chelsea can expect to link up with students from more than 20 other countries. Vicky will be studying at the Georgian Southern University in Statesboro, not far from the city of Savannah which is close to the Georgia/Florida border. She is especially looking forward to experiencing the American Thanksgiving Day, Christmas and New Year. "This is a fantastic opportunity for me to experience the American way of life as well as meeting lots of other students from all over the world. I'm looking forward to the diversity of it all and learning more about the different cultures." says Vicky.
