Annual seaside visit of the Deptford Children

Inner London Children visit the Sea Side

The Rotary Club of Hastings again played host to a group of Children from Deptford. This is an annual visit initially set up between the two Rotary Clubs but has since transferred to a local Deptford church group.  The programme is well proven and a group of Hastings Rotarians met the children and helpers at Clambers which is always a hit and expends the pent up energy from the journey. Moving onto the amusement arcade the children scatter with pocketfuls of change which is all too soon gone. Then into the Aquarium peering into the tanks of strange and scary animals and onto the beach, on what had to be one of the best days of the year. Only one child fell into the sae fully clothed and had to be found dry cloths however she insisted on putting her soggy Scout scarf and woggle back on, she had worn it all day and was obviously a new a very proud Scout. All back on the bus and fast asleep for the trip back to London;
