The Great Escape to Sonning on the Thames was organised by John Thomson and all the arrangements went without a hitch.
Twenty six Rotarians and partners met for lunch on the way there at The Old Mill, a beamed converted water mill at Odiham and by late afternoon all forty-two of our party had assembled at The Great House Hotel at Sonning.
The Great House was a lovely old hotel beside the river. We found the rooms and food really excellent and the staff charming and attentive. A first class choice. After meeting in the bar we walked across the adjacent bridge to an old converted mill, which hosted us for a convivial dinner and then into the theatre in the same building. The play was
