Schools Charity Concert
SCHOOLS CHARITY CONCERT
An Extravaganza of music and musical Talent.
Our 6th concert was held again at GLive and showed all who attended what an amazing amount of musical talent there is in this area and in particular at the four schools that took part.
This year's concert was on Thursday 15th March 2018.
Those taking part were again the Duke of Kent, George Abbot and Priors Field with a first appearance of the More House School Jazz Band and again the evening was an absolutely superb event.
It gets better every year
Each school were on stage for around thirty minutes and produced a wide mix of music from excerpts from west end shows such as Les Miserables to classical piano, and violin plus several choirs and bands, Jazz/Swing/Rock etc. and much, much more.
Following straight after the delightful Ukes of Kent rendition of Be Happy by the youngest members of the cast the rest, all 350 +, joined for a grand finale singing the Oasis classic Don't Look Back in Anger, producing something to remember!
As in previous years the feedback from the large audience was extremely good with everyone being delighted by the excellence of the performances and leaving with a smile on their face.
Please look at the related sub pages where a small selection of photos featuring each school are shown.
This event only happens because of the hard work of the Directors of Music from the schools and the Concert committee of Rotarians headed by President Tony Gorham (also an excellent MC) with Jane Hindley, Ruth Allen, Bob Bass and Robin Freeman and many other helpers. Many thanks to them; well done and we all look forward to next year.
