Foodtrain and its Befriending Service

Scott is Service Manager for the  Foodtrain Friends. For an interesting read TRY THIS LINK

Scott gave a highly informative talk about the origins and growth of this Dumfries based charity which has now expanded across central Scotland.

With generous assistance from Morrisons in particular, FOODTRAIN and the numerous volunteers now have a thriving service that not only delivers groceries to the less able old folk but also an EXTRA service doing little but difficult jobs for the infirm and FRIENDS the expanding  chatting service. See their web for lots more detail. Volunteer if you can.

For such a serious and worthwhile subject Scott scattered humour throughout his talk  such that every profession from electricians , plumbers, accountants, post office operators, office suppliers, bankers of course,  and even certain international grocery companies got a good hammering. In fact virtually every Rotarian in the room for good measure.

Good stuff on a worthwhile cause.
