The Effect of the Recession on the CAB's work.
Ian King spoke on the profund effect that the recession has on their work.

The talk was illuminating concerning the pressures brought about by the effects of the current macro amd micro financial problems. This both directly on clients situations and the demand created within the CAB. The growing demand for food parcels was highlighted and the input of a previous Rotary speaker Mark Frankland of First Base.
The range of work undertaken free to the client was impressive, being delivered through a large group of highly trained volunteers but also dedicated specialist paid employees across the region.
However disappointingly even after questioning we did not seem to clarify any suggestion of the way ahead for many of these clients' problems other than throwing more money at the whole area of social assistance.
