The Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is a training programme for young people aged 14-17 which is held at Ardenoig at Loch Tay usually over two separate weeks in August. It enables the young people to debate issues of responsibility and human relations and to improve leadership and communication skills.

Through the various tasks to which they are exposed they develop self-confidence and knowledge - all while having fun and making new friends.

Each year the Club sponsors two pupils from local schools to attend these courses.

The 2017 participants were Eilidh and Lauren Robertson from Balerno Community High School and Adnan Bakar from Wester Hailes Education Centre.
They gave a presentation at a club meeting in November 2107. It  was confident and enthusiastic. They all stressed how they had grown in confidence over the week and how the cautious atmosphere on the way out to Ardeonaig, knowing no-one, contrasted with the return trip with new friends. They all recommended the RYLA experience.
