Information on the current Group Study Exchange Programme

Providing opportunities for young professionals (non-Rotarians) to participate in a 4-week exchange visit to another Rotary District in another country.

The Group Study Exchange Programme (GSE)

Chairman: Karen Eveleigh (Oxford Spires)

The 2012-13 Exchange will be with District 9670, North of Sydney in New South Wales, Australia.

We had a strong field of candidates for the post of Team Leader for the team that will visit District 9670 in New South Wales, Australia in March 2013. Frank Knowles from the Rotary Club of Maidenhead was selected for the post and he will now join other members of the Group Study Exchange Sub-Committee to select the four team members.

The interviews for the team members will be held in Marlow on 29th September, and so all clubs in the District are now being encouraged to support applications from potential team members.

There are three information leaflets, written for:

Potential candidates should also be encouraged to read the Rotary International brochure, also attached below.

Applications should be sent by the candidate to Karen Eveleigh, the Chair of the GSE Sub-Committee at karen.eveleigh@yahoo.com, having already been endorsed by a Rotary Club within the District.

The deadline for applications is Wednesday 19th September 2012.

Applicants and supporting clubs should note that the candidates are required to submit a covering letter and an essay of intent with the application form.

All candidates will be invited for interview on 29th September and each candidate should be accompanied by a member of the supporting Rotary Club.

After the outgoing team members have been selected, we will then contact all Clubs to ask for assistance with hosting the incoming team from District 9670. The incoming Australian team will be in our District in February and March, and as in previous years, we will be seeking up to six or seven clubs to host the team during their stay. Both the incoming and outgoing teams will attend the District Conference in Bournemouth in March 2013.
