Working with the Local Community

Community Service covers the projects and activities the club undertakes to improve life in its community area.

Caring about/for the Community

Service defines Rotary's character; whether local, national or international, it promotes Rotary's appeal and visibility in the community, and is one of the reasons that Rotary continues to grow.

Community Service responds to the needs of the local community and through our International Committee we support communities around the world. The Club determine top priorities for service projects by first learning about a community's needs and assesses them, they then seek to develop a response that addresses them.

One of the local community projects we support

Every June, the Rotary Organisation throughout Britain and Ireland together with KidsOut take over 25,000 disadvantaged children on a great big day out. The children visit the seaside, theme parks, adventure playgrounds & zoos giving them all wonderful memories to cherish for a lifetime.

The Charity KidsOut has helped over 200,000 children since 1990 on average
