Rotary Foundation - Rotary's Own Charity

Foundation is Rotary International's own Charity Fund; the money is utilised to address major humanitarian problems around the world.


What Foundation is all about

The mission of The Rotary Foundation of Rotary International is to enable Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty.

Foundation is Rotary's central charity support fund which receives income from all of the Rotary Clubs around the world.

Foundation's Major Programmes are currently:

  • Thanks for Life - Polio Eradication
  • Educational Programs - Foster peace by building understanding through person-person contact, friendship, study and cross-cultural exchange i.e. Group Study Exchange
  • Humanitarian Grants Programme - Supports Clubs and Districts as they undertake humanitarians service projects.

How Our Club Contributes to Foundation

The Club donates 10% of all charitable funds raised; with the exception of situations where we are asked to raise funds for a specific organisation.

The Club's "Queen of Hearts" a weekly draw where all of the profits raised are donated to Foundation by the Club
