Expedition to Fairy Mountain 15th Jan 2012
The group set off in two cars from Lanark early on Sunday morning. Unfortunately the group's renowned lack of sense of direction resulted in very late start from Schiehallion's car park.
Conditions were perfect, high cloud, light winds and Winter sunshine combining to create an illusion of temperatures above 0 deg C.
The group progressed to Schiehallion's bolder field before being beaten back by dwindling light and cold ears
The group made it back to base camp as darkness fell.
Low point of the trip was on the long dark journey home, discovering the superb Dunkeld Fish Bar was closed, the party made do with Flame Grilled Whoppers (an hour later) at BK Stirling - a welcome but poor substitute
