BRISTOL v BATH (Sunday 2nd March)

BRISTOL v BATH (Sunday 2nd March)

Eddie pulled some strings once again and managed to get us a batch of tickets for last weekend's big derby game of Bristol at home to Bath in the Guinness Premiership. However it was a bit of a shame his planning didn't take into account that it was Mothers Day and all the restaurants and pubs around would be fully booked! Still at least by getting to the ground early we were able to soak up all the match day atmosphere (as well as several pints and burgers!). A huge crowd of over 16,000 rugby fans poured into Bristol City's Ashton Gate ground for the encounter and from our elevated positions in the giant Dolman stand we enjoyed a gripping match which Bath eventually managed to win by 9-19 thanks mainly to the boot of Ollie Barkley. It might have been due to Bill's smooth driving (or more likely the drink consumed!) but the journey home was a fairly quiet affair.
