RIBI President visits Burton upon Trent

On 17th February 2012 RIBI President Ray Burman visited Burton to view projects being carried out by local Rotary clubs.


Rotary GB&I President Ray Burman visited Burton upon Trent on 17th February 2012, accompanied by District Governor Gordon McGlone. Ray came to Burton to view the work being carried out by local Rotary Clubs.

The first stop was on Burton Bridge to view the area to be cleaned up in the joint Burton/Bretby Rotary Clubs 'Spring Clean' event on Saturday 7th April 2012. Ray Burman was then taken to the Town Hall to unveil one of the advertising boards being displayed in the shopping centre during Rotary Week from Monday 20th to Sunday 26th February. Ray was shown round the Town Hall by the Mayor of East Staffordshire, Patricia Ackroyd, a member of our club.

The final visit was to the new Chestnut Grange Extra Care development in Anglesey Road where our club has given financial assistance to help create the Water Feature, a sensory garden, seating and a summer house.

The visit ended with lunch at Chestnut Grange.
