Our French Contact Club

We have a special relationship with a club in France. We meet in the summer and it is a great chance appreciate just how international Rotary really is.

The club is the Rotary Club of Conde St Amand

VISIT OF THE ROTARY CLUB OF CONDE ST. AMAND - APRIL 2017

On Friday 28th April we were pleased to welcome friends from our French Contact Club to an excellent Hog Roast at the Cuddington Golf Club. There were 42 of us present to enjoy a really lovely evening and delicious meal.

The highlight of the evening was the presentation of a SECOND Paul Harris Fellowship (known as a Paul Harris with Sapphire) to Past President Duncan Cox.

The award was presented by our President Doug and was given for all of Duncan’s hard work in originating, researching, planning and launching the very first Epsom & Ewell Borough Family Fun Day in 2012.

Duncan receives his Paul Harris Fellowship + Sapphire

A Paul Harris Fellowship is the highest award that Rotary can give............ and Duncan has TWO !!

On the Saturday we had a great day out with our French friends visiting Polesdon Lacey Mansion.

After an excellent buffet lunch prepared by Fiona, we then moved on to Denbies Vineyard where we had a 50 minute ride on the Road Train around the vines.

On Saturday evening 36 of us attended the Official welcoming Dinner and Dance at the Banstead Downs Golf Club. The meal was superb and a great Disco was provided by Samuel Baker.

On the Sunday morning we enjoyed a superb buffet lunch prepared by the wonderful Jenny Read before waving goodbye to our friends.
