Community Support

Cheque presentation to Timsbury Larder Project

The Rotary Club of Somer Valley is very much part of its local community.

Members work with all age groups. Community projects include:

  • Organising and funding annual coach trips to the seaside for groups of elderly people
  • Taking disadvantaged children to Kids' Out day at Longleat Safari Park
  • Running the barbeque at Cheshire Homes annual garden party
  • Getting involved with a public speaking competition for the local youth as part of a Rotary-wide initiative
  • Running the Big Pitch contest at Somervale School
  • Providing car parking stewards at community events
  • Helping out at Midsomer Norton's annual Fayre 
  • Helping at events run by our chosen charity Time is Precious
  • Funding 2 young people annually on the RYLA Young Leaders training course
  • Bought equipment for the Covid 19 Ward staff at the Royal United Hospital, Bath
  • Helped support the Paulton Swimming Pool renovation project
  • Provided funds for the Timsbury Larder project
