Mick Stokes is our Dining Steward and is charge of arranging our venues and gourmet refreshment.
Our weekly meeting at St Augustine's features an excellent dinner and the excellent menus are arranged by Mick together with the Head Chef.
Visiting Rotarians are always welcome to join us at our meetings but Mick does need to submit final numbers for dinner first thing each Monday and so please make sure that you let him know that you are coming by Sunday at the latest.
It is important that members of the Rotary Club of Westgate & Birchington who wish to give their apologies should be in contact with Mick by Sunday at the latest. Please do not give aplogies to another Rotarian or to St Augustine's. Members who miss a meeting and do not give their apologies at the proper time will be liable to pay for the cost of the meal.
In addition to our weekly meetings we often hold "Guest Dinners" or "Away Days" when there is a 5th Tuesday in the month. Members are invited to bring families and friends to these meetings and we are pleased to extend an invitation to members of other Rotary and Inner Wheel Clubs to join us for dinner. Please contact Mick by the Sunday before if you wish to come.
The are a number of formal dinners during the year (e.g. Christmas, President's Night, Handover) and these present a major challenge to Mick when it comes to drawing up the Table Plan for 100+ diners. Please be sure to contact him well before the published closing date to ensure your reservation.
