Great Fun with the Trolley Dash on Sunday 14th April. 2019 Min Hogg from Rockness, Nailsworth, was the lucky winner of goods to the value of £250 at Morrisons. The dash was a family event in more ways than one. Min is having a significant birthday this week, and has just celebrated the birth of a baby granddaughter, not to mention a raft of family birthdays. Congratulations to Min and all the family, enjoy your wonderful week! The Trolley Dash raised money for local and national charities, and has been an annual event for several years.
How easy do you think it is to spot paintings or drawings produced by established or up-and-coming artists? Well, in August 2018 we held a charity art sale in Stroud where all of the original artworks were on sale for only £40 each. This event was entitled Discover The Artists and it raised over £7,000 for local arts charities and other Rotary charities. This successful event will be held again, hopefully at the Stroud Subscription Rooms.
Our 2019 event was another amazing night! The weather was good, and the-show goes from strength to strength every year. This takes three Rotary clubs, 100 volunteers from the area and the magic of an award-winning Firework display team to make this one of the very best — anywhere.
Funds raised in 2019-2020 have helped a wide range of organisations:
Air Ambulance, Access Bikes, Alzheimer’s Café, End Polio Now, Food Bank, Gloucestershire Young Carers, Home-Start, Macmillan Nurses, Marah Trust, Minchinhampton First Scouts, Nailsworth School, Nailsworth Youth Club, NHS South West Ambulance Service – Community First Responders, Prostrate Cancer, ShelterBox, Stroud Womens’ Refuge and Vumilia
more Frank B King, President of Nailsworth Rotary Club, will be riding from Land’s End to John O’Groats in June, to raise donations for charity.
