New Generations

Colin outlines his vision for 2012

  • Our year stars with the IMDR rally.  Two of our members are on the steering committee and will also be attending.
  •
  • Once again we will be sending a candidate to RYLA.  Our club has now been participating for a number of years and it is clear that the young people gain great personal benefit from it as well as being made aware of the role played by Rotary in the community and internationally
  • September will bring with it the disabled games in Chester to which our club will send a team of helpers again.
  • After years of pushing water uphill we decided last year to concede defeat in trying to hold a Young Chef competition. This was due to the apathy from the colleges and schools we approached. Therefore we looked towards a local primary school to hold a Young Writer Competition, which was a fantastic success, and more importantly the children enjoyed taking part.
  • In March, our club will run for the 4th time a Technology Tournament. Due to its success in previous years a high response is anticipated from the local secondary Schools in our area. This year we held it for the first time at Hillside High School, which turned out to be an excellent venue.
