Youth Service

The Rotary Club of Wrington Vale's Youth Committee is responsible for managing the club's many Youth activities, including promoting national Rotary events such as Youth Speaks, Young Chef, Young Musician and Young Writer in local schools. These competitions are designed to encourage young people to enter (usually through their schools and colleges) and compete in friendly rivalry. Starting at club level, competitors have the opportunity to win through to District, Regional and even National success.

We maintain strong links with the senior and primary schools within the Wrington Vale area through a team of Rotarians who act as school co-ordinators.  Rotarians from the club - drawing on their vocational experience and skills - regularly go into local schools to officiate in mock interviews (designed to help prepare students for entry to university or the world of work), "Dragon Den" type business study events and other school activities.

The Youth Committee also takes part in the annual Kids Out Day where local children from RotaryClubs throughout the ditrict are treated to a visit to Longleat, and organises a very popular weekend break for local young carers.
