Community and Vocational Service

We are for communities

The Rotary Club of Wrington Vale's Community & Vocational Committee (commonly known as C&V) is responsible for ensuring the club plays a full part in local community activities in order to both support and serve these communities wherever we can and also to raise the profile of the Rotary Club of Wrington Vale within our catchment area.

Community and Vocational service is an opportunity for Rotarians to serve their local communities using their personal and vocational skills and abilities.

The C&V committee ensures Rotary has a presence at various local village events throughout the year, usually including Banwell Fete, Winscombe Millenium Fair, Winscombe Michealmas Fair and Axbridge Fair. The committee also organises the ever popular annual Senior Citizen's Christmas Party plus it undertakes street collections and Carol Singing in the weeks leading up to Christmas to raise funds for various charities supported by Rotary. Over the past couple of years, C&V have promoted a major fundraising event in the form of a prestigeous Casino Night held at Thatchers Cider in Sandford.

The C&V committee is also responsible for publicising the activities of the club in the local press and radio and through the club's social media Facebook and webpages.
