12 November 2011 Auction - Victoria Hall, Dunblane

.

The Rotary Club of Bridge of Allan and Dunblane held their charity auction on Saturday 12 November at the Victoria Hall in Dunblane.  With 99 lots on offer stretching from a steak pie through transportation to the airport and on into a bespoke pendant from local silversmith Graham Stewart, there was plenty for those assembled to enjoy bidding on under the expert auctioneering skills of Morton Strachan.  A fabulous array of tempting home baking kept everyone well fed served by the excellent Rotary tea and coffee makers.  It is expected that after all the collections are made, over £5000 will have been raised.

The proceeds will be used to support Rotary International's ongoing drive to eliminate polio from the last few countries where it is still endemic. This is part of a major fundraising drive supported by the Gates Foundation in which Rotary hopes to raise $200 million by the end of June 2012.  Rotary International runs countless other humanitarian projects both locally and internationally and also partners many other charities.

The Club would like to thank all those businesses and individuals who made such generous donations for the auction, as well as all those who made bids on the day; they can be justifiably proud at the excellent amount of charitable money raised. A list of all contributors is shown below.
