BECOME A ROTARIAN IN NEWCASTLE, STAFFS

We are an active and friendly club seeking to welcome new members. Why not join us to expand our work further and become part of an international organisation dedicated to helping others? You will be given a very warm welcome!

SERVE LOCAL AND INTERNATIONAL COMMUNITIES

Support numerous local schools, groups and charities by providing help, equipment and funding.

We get some help during one of our Bucket CollectionsWe maintain strong links with these bodies through our Community and Youth Opportunities Committees. We organise events for local residents of sheltered housing schemes and a Christmas party for the elderly in the borough. We manage memorial and bequest funds which provide bursaries for staff development and training for the Douglas Macmillan Hospice, and support for specific groups of young people.

Our Club has strong international links with recent projects in Jamaica, Brazil, South Africa and Zimbabwe. It supports both the Shelterbox and Aquabox schemes through which Rotary provides assistance in emergency and disaster relief. Our members have even driven lorries laden with aid to a Children's Hospice in Belarus!

Our Charity Fund is maintained through a variety of events, bucket collections and special projects.

HOWEVER IT'S NOT ALL WORK AND NO PLAY!

Enjoy fellowship through regular Tuesday lunchtime meetings at the Ramada Hotel and listen to some interesting guest speakers.

Some members take a break during the recent Thames Path WalkOur membership, both men and women, is drawn from a wide cross-section of the community and meetings are friendly events. The club has social evenings and visits places of interest. It has Crown Green and Ten-Pin Bowls Teams which are successful in Rotary District competitions. There is a golf team, a quiz Team and an active walking group. We have cordial relations with other local organisations and local rotary clubs which we occasionally visit.
