President from 1st July 1986 was Inverkeithing man, John Haywood. John hailed from Devon and was educated in Torquay and at Manchester University where he studied for degrees in physics. In 1950 he joined the Royal Naval Scientific Service and moved to Dunfermline where he worked at ARE - Admirality Research Establishment in Queensferry Road, Dunfermline. A founder member of the West Fife Club John was married to Ina and had two children - a son Iain and daughter Glenna.
