40th Charter Dinner

The RC of Eastbourne Sovereign celebrated the 40th anniversary of their Charter on Saturday 4th September. The celebration dinner at the Chatsworth Hotel was attended by District Governor John Dunkley, club member and Assistant Governor South, Liz Wilton along with Presidents and representatives of most local clubs. Representing the RC of Bexhill were President John Griffith and Chris plus AG South West Ray Dixon and Jenny. Charter member Alan Booth was very much the life and soul of the party providing a continuous string of jokes, he also proposed the Loyal Toast

The club originally Chartered as the RC of Polegate and Willingdon has been very active over the years and has been successful in producing District officers including DGs and AGs. President Brian Hampson (latterly our AG and fondly known as the hamster) outlined some of the clubs many achievements. Greetings from the clubs parent and contact clubs reinforced the considerable contribution that the club has made to the local and international community.
