Report of Vocational Visit to Strathclyde Police Stables
The second in the present series of vocational visits was on Tuesday 10th August 2010 to Blairfield Farm, Stewarton and the Mounted Branch of Strathclyde Police.
Rotarians, Inner Wheel members and their guests were asked to be at Blairfield for 6pm where they were met by Sgt. Lesley Winchester and given a tour of the Stables and facilities. Sgt. Winchester answerred our continuing flow of questions in an easy, comprehensive and down to earth manner. In the end everyone had a good understanding of the Mounted Police section, all horses were duly petted and minted and even a few enquiries about their best quality rose manure casually fielded!
A number of pictures of the visit appear in the Gallery.
Further information about the Mounted Branch, and Strathclyde Police in general is available here.
